Agenda:1. Review Material Testing Formula Sheet 2. Complete Act. 2.3.1 Stress/Strain Calculations 3. Review Truss Bridge Project Requirements and Bridge Requirements Diagram Students will continue Truss Bridge Project |

**Day 4: Thursday- 5.7.15**

Topic: Material Testing

## Day 2: Tuesday- 5.5.15

Topic:Design Problem: Structure and Material
Objectives:· Brainstorm and sketch possible solutions to an existing design problem. · Create a decision making matrix for the design problem. · Select an approach that meets or satisfies the constraints given in a design brief. · Create a detailed pictorial sketch to document the best choice, based upon your team’s decision matrix. · Present a workable design solution. |
Agenda:1. Calculating Truss Forces- Students will complete Activity 2.17 Calculating Truss forces 2. Students will continue to work on their Truss Bridge Project after turning in Activity 2.1.7 |

Topic:Design Problem: Structure and Material
Objectives:· Calculate the X and Y components given a vector. · Calculate moment forces given a specified axis. · Use equations of equilibrium to calculate unknown forces. · Use the method of joints strategy to determine forces in the members of a statically determinate truss. |
